Our hearts are broken....yet we celebrate with the angels in heaven! We will miss his visits at our gate as we come and go...yet we celebrate each memory of his kind friendship! We will miss the stories of our dear friend and brother...yet we will forever share the testimony of his love for his Savior Jesus. As we celebrate his eternal arrival....we will also ask our Savior to comfort and cover Brother Ron's wife Delores and family with HIS Peace.

Ron was an amazing and God loving individual that I knew as "Cornbread". He absolutely loved people and loved talking about the Lord to anyone that would listen.

He allowed me and my husband to come over and go fishing in his pond. Always telling us each time we were leaving to come back real soon. Ron gave the best hugs. You knew they were sincere and I'm going to miss those hugs. I'm going to miss seeing his smiling face. But I'm going to rejoice in knowing where he his. Singing with all the other angels praises to our Lord and savior. RIP Ron. Gone but not forgotten!

Dear family members I'm so very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to each of you during these difficult times. Find comfort in knowing that we will join Ron at our appointed time. Until then, cherish the wonderful memories you have of Ron!
With deepest sympathy,
Marian and George Ritchie

Memorial to a godly man.......

The first day Jimmy & I walked into Hat Creek we were greeted by a very friendly man with the biggest smile. He welcomed us with open arms & made us feel so at home. Every Sunday after that without fail he made sure to come & speak to us and tell us how happy he was to see us there. Little did I know this was the beginning of the Lord using this man to lead & speak into me. He took us under his wing & became a very special friend. I have never seen any one so excited when we would tell him how God was blessing our business or when we would have a new calf born. He loved talking about our Lord & sharing what He was doing in his own life & hearing what He was doing for others. It was several weeks before we even knew that he was Pastors Dad, it wasn’t something that he threw in peoples faces even though there was no doubt how much he loved his son & respected him as HIS Pastor. I don’t remember exactly how long it was but he soon asked me how I would like to stand at the door on Sundays, greet people & hand out bulletins? I was somewhat shocked & uncertain since I still didn’t know many people so asked him could I ‘think’ about it & let him know? He of course said yes, just to let him know when I was ready. I am still unaware of how God was using this man in my life. I prayed about it & told him I would ‘try’ it for a while & see how it went, lol! All this time I was being ‘groomed’ & learning. The next thing that came was him asking me to be an usher & help with communion. I immediately told him I was not worthy to do such a task - he told me ‘Donna - God gave me your name specifically.’ I was stunned, you have to understand when we started going to Hat Creek it had been 30 years since I had been in church! And before that, it was a Baptist Church where women don’t serve in positions like that. Again I told him to give me some time & again I told him I would be honored to ‘serve’. Both of these areas of service that this man placed me in were God ordained. Pastor preached a series of sermons on having the heart of a servant & being in the place of a servant. I learned so very much from these sermons & serving in these positions taught me humility, obedience, respect, honor & yes, serving! All because of this one man who was an obedient servant himself in doing what The Holy Spirit led him to do by placing me in these areas of serving and ‘showing’ me what being a servant means. Something else I learned was it’s not always about the ‘big’ things, yes, those are very important but sometimes the small things can have such an impact & make such a difference to people, it’s more on a personal level. I’ve spent my life hearing others talk about their mentors & thinking back over my life & believing that I never had one. Well, you know what? It took me TOO long to realize it but I did have one - his name was Ron Johnson. I will miss this man! I regret not having seen him in over a year, God forgive me! I just hope he knew just how much he meant to me & the impact he had on my life. This is not about me - this is about an amazing & godly man who loved his Lord & Savior, wasn’t afraid to surrender his all to Him and show others how amazing it is to serve our Lord! Thank You Father God for placing this man in my life! He is rejoicing in Heaven this very moment & yes we will meet again my brother & friend! I love you Ronald Johnson!
