Virginia Watkins Moore, age 87 of Winnsboro, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019.

She was born June 1, 1931, in Berry, Alabama, to the late Virgil and Minnie (Hicks) Watkins.
Virginia worked primarily in housekeeping in various hospitals and nursing facilities. She was a Christian and was raised in a Nazarene Church. Born in Alabama, she brought her family to Dallas, Texas and later to Winnsboro, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Minnie Lee Watkins; six brothers, Arthur Watkins, Franklin Watkins, Henry Watkins, Lee Watkins, Oscar Watkins, Richard Watkins, and Troy Watkins; and one sister, Georgia Watkins.
She is survived by her husband, J.D. Wolverton; her brother, Roy Watkins of Lumberton, Mississippi; her sister, Glenda Golden of Centerville, Alabama; her three sons, Carl Watkins, Ray Scott of Pickton, TX, and James Scott of Winnsboro, TX; one daughter, Martha Ann Scott of Glenpool, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2019, graveside at Hopewell Cemetery, Wood County, Texas with Pastor James Scott of East Point Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Colten Scott Murphy, Dakota Lane Miller, Landon Overstreet Porter, Ronny Dewayne Matthews, Bhtoschi Wayne Holland and Brandon Scott Holland will be serving as pallbearers and Randall Alsobrook, Matthew Murphy, Paxton Weems, Bryce Holland, Noah Weems and Jerico Porter serving as honorary pallbearers.
