Obituary for James Payton

James Payton
James Andrew Payton, age 56 of Lewisville, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 in Denton. He was born on March 4th, 1961 in Ft. Worth to the late Ralph Payton and Joyce Stith Payton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Payton and brother, Michael Payton,
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Joyce and Forrest Garb of Oak Point, TX; son, James Payton, Jr. of Glen Spey, NY; daughter, Katie Payton of North Haledon, NJ; brother, John Payton of Paradise, TX; sister, Pamela Behrens of Grapevine, TX; step-brother, David Garb and step-sister Kara Grant both of Oak Point, TX; grandchildren, Mark and Matthew Payton; nephews, Will Behrens, Steven, Glen and Marshall Payton.
Andy was a proud Marine and held those values in his life.
Andy was an avid outdoorsman. He grew up fishing with his Dad, Grandfather, brothers and other family and friends. Andy also especially enjoyed working on antique cars with his stepfather Forrest Garb and all the ‘old car guys’.
Andy often sought to help and serve others. Kindness and generous heart exemplify Andy’s spirit and he is loved and will be missed by all of us.
A private family Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, February 13th in East Texas where he’ll be buried next to his father, Ralph Payton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Episcopal Church of the Annunciation in Lewisville, TX, the USO or a charity of your choice in recognition of his generous life. Donations may be made by using the donation tab on this page.
