Obituary for Joe Ziegler
Mr. Joe Ziegler, age 80 of Troup, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday April 13th 2017. He was born in Hopkins County to the late Jacob Leslie Ziegler and Gladys Faye Brewer Ziegler. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter Patricia Renee Ziegler; brothers J.L. Ziegler and Jerry Ziegler; sister Christine Broadstreet. Mr. Ziegler is survived by his wife, Francis Juanita Narramore Ziegler of Troup; daughter Charlotte Lequita and husband Carlos Gomez of Tyler; son Darwin Duane Ziegler and wife Kathy of Kosse; daughter Debra Denee and husband Kevin Rogers of Wills Point; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Clara Ziegler of Winnsboro, nieces, nephews and his wonderful best friend George Aiken.
Mr Ziegler proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He very much wanted to serve his country so he enlisted at age 17. He worked at the Cotton Belt Railroad, was a Building Contractor and rancher. He liked fishing and hunting. He was very good at telling stories (true stories) which we will miss.
Visitation will be held on Monday April 17th, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro, 816 W. Broadway, Winnsboro, TX 75494. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on April 17th at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro, 816 W. Broadway, Winnsboro, TX 75494 with Mr. Nolan Scrubbs and Bro. Larry Craig conducting, interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Winnsboro.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Open Door Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Troup Texas or Hospice of East Texas would be appreciated.
