Obituary for Harry Petty

Harry Petty
Mr. Harry Petty went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 3, 2017, at the age of 91 in Aiken, South Carolina. He was born on July 8, 1925. He is one of 14 children born to the late William Wesley Petty and Viola Horton Petty. Harry is predeceased by his wife, Eloise Petty and his son, John Petty. He is survived by his daughters Jane Petty Biddle (Michael) of Aiken, SC and Tina Petty Marino (Lou- deceased) of Allegany, New York and seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Bill Petty (Margie) of Valiant, Oklahoma and Stanley Harrison Petty (Cathy) of Fort Worth, TX.
Harry served in the U.S. Army during WWII and married the former Eloise Feemster on January 7, 1948. He worked for 25 years with H.L. Merrill and Sons before retiring. Harry spent most of his life in Fort Worth before moving to East Texas. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Harry was a member of the VFW and enjoyed attending the dances with friends.
Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service to celebrate the life of Harry Petty at the Beaty Funeral Home, 816 W Broadway St, Winnsboro, Texas on Monday February 13, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Beaty Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Watson Cemetery, Arlington, TX at 3:00 PM.
